At Almanac Market, we focus on traditionally made, reasonably priced artisanal cheeses. We carefully select our cheeses, so that even the smallest sliver will inspire you, but won't break your bank.
Our cheese case changes regularly. So, please stop in or call for the latest arrivals. But some of our perennial favorites include:
- American Buttermilk Bleu
- Creamy buttermilk flavor with a bleu cheese bite. An excellent tasting cheese with wine.
- Bulgarian Feta
- Feta purists consider Bulgarian Feta to be the best of the best; this one lives up to the title.
- Fromage D'Affinois
- A soft and smooth French double-crème.
- Italian Piave
- A hard cheese with full-flavor and a caramel-like sweetness.
- Lancaster County Raw Milk Cheddar
- A cave-aged, mild cheddar cheese made locally in Lancaster County.
- Manchego
- A rich, golden, semi-firm cheese with a full mellow flavor, from the La Mancha region in Spain.
- Ossau-Iraty
- A classic sheep's milk cheese that has been in constant production for thousands of years, Ossau-Iraty boasts a unique flavor combination that is nutty, olivey, and fruity all at once.
- Parmigiano Reggiano
- Parmigiano Reggiano has a fruity and nutty flavor and is great grated over pasta or stirred into soup or risotto.
- Prima Donna
- Made in Holland, this Gouda is aged over a year and has a strong sharp flavor and melts once inside your mouth.
